During a period of a week, two failures is not acceptable. Today it was signalling and communication failure, but what technical glitch caused the failure on July 22. If that glitch was also due to signalling the question is asked, are the signalling apparatus maintained by competent staff. Just wondering.
RapidKL’s Kelana Jaya LRT Services Temporarily Suspended Due To Signal And Communication Failures
KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 (Bernama) — Thousands of commuters were stranded for half an hour from 9.11am today when the Kelana Jaya light rail transit (LRT) service ground to a halt due to signaling and communication failures.
Rangkaian Pengangkutan Integrasi Deras Sdn Bhd (RapidKL) in a statement here today said normal service resumed at 9.40am after the signaling and communication glitch had been rectified.
“Investigation into the cause is now ongoing,” it said.
It said the service was temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure following the signaling and communication failure.
Last Tuesday, the Kelana Jaya LRT service at the Gombak, Taman Melati, Wangsa Maju and Setiawangsa stations stalled for more than 10 hours from 6am to 3.30pm due to a technical glitch.
