Azizan must thank his lucky stars that Mahdzir did not carry along the menteri besar’s office. He is obsessed with the implementation of banning gambling and liquor licences which is his top priority, forget about missing files and in any case if a file is destroyed you cannot get the original, Mahdzir is not stupid. Take a bet Kedah will be a dry state before a month is over. Any bet, no money please, just verbal, maybe a cup of tea, or is that gambling.

Azizan Satisfied With Mahdzir’s Explanation Over Missing Files

ALOR STAR, March 18 (Bernama) — While Kedah Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak is satisfied with his predecessor, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid’s explanation that no file was taken from the menteri besar’s office, he gave no indication that a police report would not be lodged.
He said that as he was extremely busy, he did not have the time to lodge a report.
Azizan, who was sworn in as the new menteri besar on March 9, was shocked when he found the cabinet in his new office, devoid of official files and documents.
Yesterday, he made an official press statement on the issue.
“I don’t know what file is missing but there must be important files in the MB’s office,” he told reporters after congratulating excellent student for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2007, Azali Azlan, at Wisma Darul Aman, here today.
Azali, a student from Sekolah Menengah Agama Yan, scored 21As in the examination and was awarded the Tokoh Nilam Kebangsaan last Wednesday.
Azizan said that while he was not accusing anyone, he was nevertheless, shocked when neither documents nor files were found in his office.
“A police report is merely aimed at protecting PAS and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) coalition executive council members,” he added.
Meanwhile, speaking to Bernama, Mahdzir who replied to Azizan’s statement today, said all project or executive council files were sent to, and kept by the respective departments after a meeting.
On other developments, Azizan said the PAS/PKR-led government had yet to decide on gambling premises and liquor vendors in Kedah.
He said he would seek opinions from two non-Muslim executive council members, Tan Wei Shu and V. Arumugam before making the decision.
“If other religions permitted gambling and liquor, the state government would not forbid it, but action will be taken on Muslims who commit an offence.
“It is not true that we would entertain gamblers.
“We will seek justifications and suggestions from the local authorities and the Alor Star city council to decide on that,” he added.
