SEREMBAN, Feb 27 (Bernama) — Opposition political parties should use the election campaign as the medium to get to know the people instead of making verbal personal attacks on their opponents, Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin said today.

Khairy was asked to comment on the inclination of the opposition political parties to verbally attack the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in their ceramah (talk).

He said the personal attacks of the opposition political parties had not gone to the stage of being regarded as extreme.

Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman had said that the EC enforcement teams would not hesitate to stop any ceramah where the speakers went to the extent of making verbal personal attacks.

Correct, correct, correct. Badawi is the best Prime Minister we have had so far. No complaints against him at all. The trouble creators are the opposition, what gall have they, to criticise the PM or his Ministers. The opposition should only mention the good deeds of the group, like when they last kissed a baby, etc etc. No personal attacks, after all the invitation has been send out, sleep with me, it is a national past time.

So remember to mention the good points of the government, only, no personal attacks, everybody has weakness, that includes all 25 million people. After spicing the speech with all the goodness of the government, you the opposition can, although unnecessary, close your speech, with I don’t care if you vote me or not, I am fascinated by the good work of the government, I am here for the fun, the experience of an election, thank you.

Remember Rashid is watching over you.
