SEREMBAN: Jeram Padang assemblyman Datuk Dr L. Krishnan will not be defending his seat in the coming general election.�

The Negri Sembilan deputy MIC chairman said he had conveyed this to party president Datuk Seri S, Samy Vellu and state MIC chief Datuk T. Rajagopalu recently.�

“I am already 60 and it is time to give way to younger leaders,” said the father of three.�

“I am also giving way as I wish to pursue my studies in family medicine.”�

Dr Krishnan first contested and won the Telok Kemang parliamentary seat in 1995. �

He did not contest in 1999 but made a comeback in 2004 when he defeated S. Rajagopal from Parti Keadilan Rakyat with a 4,102 majority to win in Jeram Padang. �
