clipped from www.bernama.com KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 (Bernama) — The MIC has decided to hold its 62nd annual general meeting (AGM) for one day instead of two, a move that will save the party about RM1 million. “We have decided to hold the AGM for one-day instead of two as a way to save cost this time,” MIC president Datuk Seri S.Samy Vellu told reporters Tuesday. The AGM, to be held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) this Saturday, will be opened by Prime Minister and Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Commenting on the rally carried by a group calling themselves Protes at the Kelana Jaya Stadium in Petaling Jaya on Sunday, Samy Vellu said the protest was a ‘drama’ to gain sympathy of the people. He said the rally was unsuccessful as it only attracted 10,000 people. The former works minister said the people should be grateful to the government because it was still subsidising the cost of fuel.
