How considerate! What is wrong in saying action will be taken against the school officials if they are found negligent. Is this the procedure or each case is viewed individually even if negligence is proved. No wonder there are so many complaints against your ministry.

On whether action would be taken if school officials were found to be negligent, he said: “I cannot jump the gun until the report has been received.”

What is the hurry here. There are 2 or 3 issues outstanding, pray tell the public, how you have concluded there is no hanky panky. Is this an election gimmik to pacify your voters, before ACA concludes its probe. Very odd.

“They (those conducting the internal investigations) have given the report and it looks like the two officers had adhered to procedure but since a report had already been made, the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) has to investigate. There are two or three issues that are still unclear and this will be investigated by the agency,” he told reporters here on Saturday.

20 executives board an airplane and are told that the flight that they
are about to take is the first-ever to feature pilotless technology:
It is an uncrewed aircraft.

Each one of the CEOs is then told, privately, that their company’s
software is running the aircraft’s automatic pilot system. Nineteen of
the CEOs promptly leave the aircraft, each offering a different type
of excuse.

One CEO alone remains on board the jet, seeming very calm indeed.Asked why he is so confident in this first uncrewed flight, he replies: “If it’s the same software that runs my company’s IT systems, this plane won’t even take off.”

I though Samy forgot he had a rally on this date as I did not see further announcements in the papers. May be this is a cloak and dagger type of operation, to get 15,000 people. It would be a surprise if it did happen.

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 19 (Bernama) — The gathering of 15,000 MIC members at a meeting with the prime minister in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow evening is not a show of strength by the party but a demonstration of support for Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and the government, MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said today.

Believe me, this is not the title of a Tamil film like “Antha 47 Nadgal”, though personally I would be more than happy to write a short story than going into the intricacies of a film production. Those 9 days refer to a period of utmost importance to an ex Judge Eusoff Chin and the hero of a video clip presenting a correct, correct, correct version of a diabolical plan that would go a long away to make the Malaysians know how judges are made. Silly me, I had been all along misled by the notion that our Hakims are chosen by a secret formula of past experience, ability, conduct etc etc. But it appears not so. It is the good old enigma of knowing the right person. I sometimes wonder why I never picked up this noble legal profession. Going to the top looks easy. Your public relationship is important.

Coming back to the hero of the video clip, it is none other than V.K.Lingam a man who rose up quickly to become one labeled “the lawyer who never loses a case”.

In the year 1994, a plan for  a Christmas holiday was hatched out by this judge and the lawyer. Destination New Zealand. A party of 9 people, two families plus an outsider an ex-police sergeant Tan Chong Paw were in the group. What fun and frolic. Their journey commenced on December 22, 4 days of merriment in Auckland, off to Christchurch for another 4 days, a day visit maybe to Queensland, and then retracting your journey to Auckland, Singapore and then Malaysia. Back home on December 30 in time to celebrate New Year at home.

What glorious days were those.

Roll the film to the present. The judge appears before a Royal Commission, and on the fifth day of hearing, the judge is asked to recall the glorious 9 days. Why, because  it has something to do with our tape hero Lingam. The judge mumbles, and finally recalls that he had bumped into this lawyer chap in Singapore (in some other incident, the bumping into was in New Zealand). This can lead on to a sub-plot, a story within another story, but I desist and shall continue.

Readers can accuse me of bias and accuse me of bias in relating this story, I know, I know, the the journey dates, suggest perfect timing and coordination, but please I am only writing the script the story belongs to a respected Bowman’s Agency, headed by a gentlement named McCarthy. Its his story.

I don’t think I am qualified to write short stories either, and therefore relate the original story. Perhaps one of my readers can edify me as to the finer points of telling a tale.

Malaysiakini was given a copy of the investigation report aptly called The Bowman Papers. The online paper published it and you will see, the judge, the lawyer, Vincent Tan, MGG Pillai, the latter as we know as a renounced blogger before his demise, are all players in the script.

What has emerged after 5 days of deliberation on the main players:

The Tengku played a safe game. To save his skin, he calls the lawyer a drunk and mentally lacking. Will the commission decide on this. Otherwise the whole episode will be filed away as the work of a drunkard and mad man.

Mahathir was super efficient. His elephant memory failed him. I suppose this happens as you get old. Any future recollection by him may be taken with a pinch of salt, as he may be not remembering well.

Chin has left everything in the hands of the  5 members of the commission. This happens when the evidence is damaging. He must have been a kind fellow, taking on anybody on a trip as and you bump into him. A present day Santa Claus.

The commission has got a lengthy hearing, and that does not mean, the members will imitate the Mongolian murder case, which drags on without any ending. Every bit of information to the commission has to be studied  and I hope the members won’t plead, they have had enough. Malaysia and the world is watching you.

Enjoy reading it. Here are the links.
