40 Indian based non-government organisations (NGO), are now requesting a non-Muslim Affairs Department. It is getting into fashion, for groups to speak up for the Indians numbering about 2 million souls. The forty NGSs, the list does not add up to this figure, came out of the blues to champion the Indians, and the Government tells Hindraf they are unworthy to lead because of the unfounded fear of LTTE Tamil Tigers.
It will take a month for them to comply a report. Why all the trouble, know anything about copy and paste or cut and paste, Hindraf has enough information, some of them in the net.
Another ad-hoc committee pleading the Indian cause, and I wonder how long this group will last. But wait, is this not the Tamil Writes Association, in this group, who had in India said, “”We have a few issues. But I’d like to tell you that overall, Tamils live peacefully in Malaysia despite living in a Muslim-dominated society,” Then please tell me why the Muslim Affairs Department cannot carry on.
On an earlier date, 2 days ago, 14 NGOs met the PM and what a beautiful scenario it was:
They discussed education, unity, agriculture and economy. Indians have problems in education and economy correct, correct, But then unity and agriculture, Indians not united, Indians not uniting with other races, NGOs not united, what was it. Agriculture? I hope they never discussed Felda, which for all intends and purpose is close to our DPMs heart, Obviously they met the wrong person. Maybe Nadarajah can comment, any land for agriculture, in Batu Caves area.
Our PM had by his body language and expression conveyed to this group, help is at hand. What more do you want, the moon.
So Indians had two representative groups within 3 days. One saw PM personally, the other is requesting PM to set up a new department. Intriguing, two groups burdened with the problems of 2 million people. Where were the NGOs pre-Hindraf.?
Now coming to the interesting part, the meeting of the PM was under the watchful eyes of Datuk Seri Sami Vellu, and now the representation for a non-Muslim department, must go through Datuk himself.
Now this is an affront to the President, and his members who are, more than the members of the 2 groups of NGOs put together’
Are you suggesting the MIC had been malingering and had never addressed the problems of the Indians. So this 54 (40 + 14), sometimes my addition goes haywire, NGOs can do what the MIC did not do. Or has the President gone soft, admitting let this group go, it does not matter if the perception is the MIC never did anything is proven correct, I have to look after my rice-bowl in Sungei Siput. What is happening?
As a matter of interest, the following Hindu groups are mentioned:
Malaysian Hindu Council
Malaysian Hindu Dharma Mamandram (MHDM)
Malaysian Hindu Youth Council
I believe they represent the Hindus, but surprisingly, in the two meetings, nothing was mentioned about Hindu temples. Was this an oversight.
Latest:
“It’s difficult to set up such a dedicated department as the other religions don’t fall under the official religion category,” he added.
Seriously, every group, including mine, wants to get involved now that the flood gates have been opened up by Hindraf. Damai is one. Now we have the Indian Damai. Malaysia Today has this on Damai and I reproduce the relevant part:
“To further impress Malaysians that race riots are imminent they got this chap called Mohd Saiful Adil Daud to form DAMAI MALAYSIA, supposedly an amalgamation of 395 Malay NGOs with a combined membership of 1.5 million Malays. That is the biggest crap I have ever heard. You would be hard-pressed to find 39 Malay NGOs, let alone 395. And even then some of these so-called NGOs have less than a dozen members. Why did they not list down the names of these 395 Malay NGOs? They couldn’t because these NGOs do not exist. And certainly these 1.5 million members do not exist either.
Saiful is actually the runner of a well-known Malay gangster called Drs Suleiman a.k.a. Man Brandy. Man Brandy used to sell ganja around the Kampong Baru mosque area in the days before May 13. He then escaped to Indonesia when the police hunted him down for murder and that was where be bought his very impressive ‘Drs’ title. Later he came back to Malaysia and was made the Deputy Minister of Health after he won the Titiwangsa Parliament seat. It is a shame he did not legalise ganja and recommend it as a health weed when he was the Deputy Minister of Health. Now it is too late.
The mastermind behind DAMAI MALAYSIA is Mamak Rezal Merican Naina Merican of GPMS. Their job is to stir the Malays into a feeding frenzy like what Datuk Harun Idris did on 13 May 1969. Unfortunately the effort failed. The Malays today are not like the Malays of 1969 and it is not so easy to incite them into an anti-non-Malay frenzy like how they did on 13 May 1969. Even the rumours they spread and the SMSess they circulated did not work. And the so-called PEKIDA rally in Kampong Baru on Sunday, 16 December 2007, the supposedly prelude to May 13 II, did not happen as planned. Nobody turned up except for the truckloads of riot police and Special Branch officers who patrolled a deserted street. It reminds me of how they cordoned an empty Dataran Merdeka on 10 November 2007.’

Hindraf under the leadership of Mr.Utaya Kumar has united the disunited Indians in Malaysia. The Indians were divided over race, religion caste ,class etc.since they arrived in Malaya then. They are many Telegus,Malayalees, Sikhs(except Karpal Singh)rich, poor, educated, uneducated who are strong followers of Hindraf today .Thanks to those leaders who are in Kamunting under ISA.. Many are feeling guilty that they have not done their job given to them by the Indians directly or indirectly in protecting the indian interests. Many like Malaysian Hindu Council ,NUPW has failed the Indian comunity year after year and those are the same people that PM of Malaysia had invited to discuss the Indian problems. What a joke ?What do you expect them to tell the PM,set up Hotline,NonMislim affairs dept etc.because they really dont know what”s the expectations of the indians down the line nor they have the will power to speak in front of Datuk Samy Vellu to the PM.since they must have taken a lot of favours from Datuk Samy since they are his cronies.
