ACA is supposed to ensure the country and its administration is free from corruption. That includes various Government agencies like Police, Customs, Immigration, etc etc. This includes all Government counters where people cue up to get things done. The hospitals, post offices, are apparently clean. Where there are rules and regulations it becomes essential the consumer, the public, is bound not to follow the called rules and regulations, not because they are stupid, but interpretation of such rules is left to the mercy of the counter clerk or somebody down the line. So, creasing of the palm comes into play. After some time the receipent of these bribes cannot manage on his salary and is all out to make the extra bug to complement his income. Without this extra income the person who collects bribes cannot manage to maintain his lifestyle.
Having said all this, lets focus our attention on the latest news report of ACA director-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Hamdan. He is so happy the people are coming forward to give information and tips on corruption. He goes on, I am happy with the increase in the public’s consciousness against combating corruption, He ends up boasting that our ranking has gone up by one spot.
I could write a thesis on this. But Ahmad where are you, here in Malaysia, or operating on remote from elsewhere. Besides your office and house don’t you go anywhere. You must be having one life lack of fun. Poor guy. Please move around and see what is happening.
I shall not get far. The Police the custodians of law and order are playing pugs. Do you drive around? Or do you prefer going by helicopter to avoid seeing what is happening on the roads. Have you seen patrol cars stopping cars, lories, van, buses etc. What are they doing? Wishing them a safe journey? You are darned if you think so. The vehicles stopped are on a selective basis, after all thousands of cars run on the roads. The Police know exactly what vehicle can be proven not in order for some rule and regulation, foreigners, the best bet, smoking vehicles, on or two vehicles breaking the law, speed regulation, etc etc, the Police are smarter than ACA, not that I confirm it, it is the general feeling of the Police. But some how or rather a good number of motorists are aware what is happening. I am sure you ACA guys are more smarter than the motorists.
Do you think with all your training, ingenuity and jack-ass intelligence, you cannot put a stop to it. If you say so, it is not possible, please resign and let another goat take over who, will be no better.
Start with one organisation, do you think others want to lose their rice-bowl. The whole system is corrupted, Ahmad can’t go after the big blue whale sharks, they are protected, meaning you scratch my back I scratch yours. If you do the same, quoting statistics you are no better than the big blue sharks because you are abetting them. The culture of not being corrupt starts with small things, because this country is self-destructing because it encourages corruption.
