One other blogger, Zorro blocked about “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” and reproduced the following poem. The date of the poem, 1697.

As you’ll answer it, take heed
This Slave commit no Violence upon
Himself. I’ve been deceiv’d. The Publick Safety
Requires he should be more confin’d; and none,
No not the Princes self, permitted to
Confer with him. I’ll quit you to the King.
Vile and ingrate! too late thou shalt repent
The base Injustice thou hast done my Love:
Yes, thou shalt know, spite of thy past Distress,
And all those Ills which thou so long hast mourn’d;
Heav’n has no Rage, like Love to Hatred turn’d,
Nor Hell a Fury, like a Woman scorn’d.

William Congreve, in The mourning bride, 1697

While browsing came upon this quotation from a woman right advocate Susan B. Anthony who said this at the beginning of this century:

“There never will be complete equality until women themselves help to make laws and elect lawmakers.”
—Susan B. Anthony

To give it a local flavour or an Indian flavour, I scratched my head to find something close to home. To those of you familiar with Indian proverbs, a woman’s bravery is exemplified by the lady who chased a tiger with a ‘muram’ (sorry no English equivalent) but this ‘muram’ is a cooking aid for winnowing to separate rice from the husk etc. Now this article is small light-weight implement usually made of rattan. Then, when I put the scorned woman and the tiger side by side, and visualised the fury, it made sense, the tiger had to run.

It is okay ladies, it is now the turn for the men “A man was telling his friends, “When my wife is infuriated, she starts shouting at me, my children and even at our dogs and nobody dares to answer her.” One of his friends asked.”And when you are angry, what do you do?” The man replied, “I also shout angrily at the windows and doors of the house and none of them dares to answer back.”

For the man even though cuckold, they fight the tiger with their bare hands. Where is the tiger now?

Sorry I diverted, what I am blabbering about is woman power. I saw some of the video clips on Hindraf and others and I am amazed how woman reacted. They never thought about Police, ISA (since this is the in thing) but said in their own words, what they thought about the Government and the leaders. They never minced their words.

Lets unleash the woman and when they come out in fury, there will be changes to our political drama.
