I am pleasantly surprised at our Election Commission chief retorting “’I Need Time To Think,’ as reported by Bernama.
What type of a gratitude is this? The government going all out to make him the Election Commission Chairman, battering the BERSIH people, arresting and charging them, creating history in this country by rallying on a very important election matter and there he is demurring he wants time. Would it not have been possible to tell those in power earlier, here I mean the PM whose intimacy with Rashid is exemplified when Rashid did know the election date before the PM himself.
He behaves like a Reluctant Debutante to the 25 million voters and those who have not registered. God save him.

“I need time to think” - is just another “wayang kulit” from the EC Chairman, to show that he was “not very keen” to hold on to the job but “was forced to” in the name of national service. This is what you will see in the papers tomorrow.
