Hindraf is a bad omen for Datuk Seri Sami Vellu. He has bad dreams and nightmares. His dreams are about being in a desert and doing the 100 meters dash with some 50,000 Indians running after him. Hindraf what have you done to him? The lion of the Indians, who boasted he was the soul and spirit of the Indians, seeking solace from a crowd. How demeaning. For 29 years he was the king and sole patron of the Indians but today things are changing. He has put on his armor of rejuvenation and put the party into top gear. Only recently he was aware the vehicle of politics and welfare of the Indians was at low gear. Now in full force and also to do damage control he has resorted to:
- Hotline to handle all problems to address socio-economic problems of the Indians
- Openly admitted problems exist in Tamil schools and temples
- When problems arise they will be brought up to the attention of the PM and DPM
- Somebody gave out his phone number and as a result hundreds of sms have reached him
- A new mechanism for the Indian Community, an unknown weapon up his sleeve, has been put into use and in June submitted a report to the PM. The PM is still studying the report after 5 months. Every 6 months the MIC secretariat will do a copy and paste of all items for submission and the PM will take this statement for a after dinner read. Not satisfied with the skimpy information given, the PM has asked for further proposals as reading matter just before he sleeps. Datuk Seri will not disappoint him. He has proposed that the civil service be saturated with Indians. I am not sure whether the PM will be happy of this because this small matter will not take another additional 5 minutes to the reading time, when in reality he was hoping for a Mega series story, found only in India, which will continue to intrigue him the next day and so forth.
Datuk Seri Samy Vellu, is shy of publicity. Some time ago he feted a famous comedian actor from India, and this was hot news in the Indian papers. But that is in India.
Young Indian child have their ears pierced at an early age. I don’t know how this practice has been vilified to mean a spin. I can only say the majority have had our ears pieced.

The MIC President being spurned by the Hindraf leaders could say he was “sad but not angry”. He further claimed that PM Abdullah has “never shut his eyes or ears to their plight “then what happened to this 18-point Memo that was submitted more than 3 months ago?. Shredded and thrown in the waste paper basket?
And for the first time when an MIC MP (Cameron Highlands) opened his mouth to express his concerns on the Indian Plight in the country (that was so glaringly highlighted in the Sunday Rally protester” he was told curtly to resign from the MIC by an UMNO Minister. So what hope is there through legitimate means except by “streets demo” to draw the attention to their plight?

I like this article….and would like to translate this for all Malaysians..gathe kutheran..literally means –piercing of ones ears…but in sarcastic speak it means taking one for a ride or spin..( eg..our msps’ and of course MIC’s response) .. i dont think I can say anything anymore then whats been said here..i am just sad….seeing a response of this nature ..from supposedly an astute politician and party … i walked not because I subscribe to all of what HINDRAF stood for…I walked because I am fed up of being told by all and sundry that the marginalised in Malaysia do not have the guts and voice…
This discontinuity is so imperative for Malaysia … it wakes people up..and along the way we will make mistakes .and it will be painful…for me this is not about HINDRAF..it is about MALAYSIA..I read the comments in the various BLOGS ..some down right racist ( my definition!)..some defensive..and some absolutely stupid ( my definition again!)..but..this is whats required..we need to talk about it..we need to feel the issues..and we absolutely need to voice it out…what ever the powers that be think!…
we need change..we will have change…for that I salute bersih , I salute HINDRAF…
Tell the “bad hair day” man to use alot of sambrani to dispel the bad omen. Why Sambrani? Yeah lah, Sam plus rani is sambrani.
Shave his already bald head bald again, wash with the BatuCave protestors’ komium and hope new hair grows by the “Act of God”.
And then get his line toeing cronies chant as the sambrani is smoked to dispel the evil in him.

To think of that only so recently he got himself to be sagaaptham???!!! Legend? my foot! Seems that it’s true that you can’t fool all the people all the time. A so called leader out of touch with reality…living in a glass house. Our koridor PM don’t even bother to launch another corridor- the Indian or Hindraf corridor- says that Samy and his MIC are irrelevant to the mighty crooked UMNO.
It wasn’t a good title. Could have been a good post I suppose, if I could be bothered to read it. But that awful title put me off. So there I refuse to read it unless you give it a better and more explanatory title.
