Bernama says this:

SUNGAI PETANI Nov 29 (Bernama) — The government will demand compensation for damage to public property from leaders of the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) and those involved in its illegal demonstrations in the city and Batu Caves on Sunday.

Deputy Internal Security Minister Datuk Mohd Johari Baharom said the ministry and police were estimating the damage to public property and other losses caused by the demonstrators.

“The amount of losses will be conveyed to the Hindraf leaders and others involved,” he told reporters after closing a workshop on the “Role of Civil Societies in Tackling the Drug Menace” for the North Zone organised by the National Anti-Drug Agency here today.

“They also have to pay for the cost of equipment that the police had to use to quell Sunday’s illegal demonstrations. The government will not allow them to escape paying.”

Asked on further action by the government against Hindraf and others involved in the demonstrations, he said other than the legal channels, the government could also use the Internal Security Act (ISA).

Good I am very happy the Government is doing this. It is going to demand compensation from Hindraf and those involved in its illegal demonstration in the city and Batu Caves. Johari is personally checking and tabulating the damage, including those involved in the illegal demonstrations which will include his Ministry the Police etc etc. Simply put permission granted no damage, no tear gas and chemical water. Please include overtime of Police officers etc etc wear and tear of Government vehicles etc etc. We can help by sending photos to him.
No tax payers money.
There will be of course a committee but it is a bit too early.

Something is very wrong when we have traitors in a community. The Indian community consists of various ethnic groups with their roots going back to India. People from South India are the Tamils, Telugus, Malayalees, and those from North India are the Sikhs, Gujarathis, Bengalis and others. In this group there also religious groups like Indian Muslims both from South and North India. But, the language, culture, habits, customs etc revert to the origins they come from the Dravidians or North Indian ethnicity. Religion can never change your roots.

Indians in Malaysia do not have an identity problem. They may practice different religions but continue to uphold their ethnicity brought from India. This identity problem is evident with the Indian Muslims.

These Indian Muslims are bend on changing their race. This is impossible. I may imitate a white man in his talk, mannerism, food, clothing and many others but I cannot be a white man, not even a “celup” white man.

So let us be clear  that we cannot change our race. It remains with us till death. We can change our religion but race is our identity. Lose this and this is tantamount to not knowing your parents. An interesting readers letter appeared in Malaysiakini relating to this.

The reader has categorised Indian Muslims into three groups consisting of:

  • Indian Muslim converts
  • Malays with Indian ancestry
  • Indian-Muslim descendants of immigrants

It is evident that the bulk of the Indian Muslims in this country come from the Indian-Muslim descendents of immigrants. Generally, this group is referred to in Tamil as “thulukar” or “thulukan”. This is a misnomer, the origin being “thrukkan” or a mussalman from Turkey. Mamak is the Malay version.

We read today “Various quarters have voiced support for the announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on using the Internal Security Act (ISA) to deal with illegal street demonstrations.”

The various quarters include:

  • 1.President of the Federation of Peninsular Malay Students, Datuk Reezal Merican Naina Merican
  • 2. President of the Indian Muslim Congress Malaysia (KIMA) Syed Ibrahim Kadir

The names Merican, Naina and Kader are very clear that these two chaps refer to the “thrukkans” (I prefer the original).

Their only concern is Hindraf and not Bersih. They talk about unity and I wonder whether they know what they are talking about.

They claim that they have not been marginalised. It is possible. The readers letter is very explicit in this. No comments of mine will change the situation.

Kader is classical. He says “On Hindraf’s demands, he said the Indians in Malaysia should remember that they came to this country 150 years ago to earn a living and not to take away the rights of others.”  Hello Sir, do you know why Hindraf had that crowd assembled? Secondly Indian migration predates to the 11th century. He has the “muda lupah” syndrome.

Wise people say if you fail to admit your origins or roots, your success or failure becomes very insignificant.

Can the ISA be used when we deny our ancestors?
