Reporter: Good morning Mr KS Nallakarupan, we are told you have formed another Indian based political party?
Mr Nalla: Correct..correct..correct, I have formed the Malaysian Indian United Party, MIUP .
Reporter: Good Sir, what are your aims in forming this party?
Mr Nalla: My main aim is to elevate the social status of the Indian community.
Reporter: Your aim is very noble, I can see, but don’t you think you are crowding out the other Indian based parties namely MIC and PPP?
Mr Nalla: Correct..correct..correct, MIC and PPP are already there. But it is only MIUP that can inject a fresh approach to solve the problems of the Indian community.
Reporter: You mean infuse Sir? But what can MIUP do that MIC and PPP could not do?
Mr Nalla: MIUP is a new party with 800 members. Unlike MIC and PPP we are like a family, a small group, easy to keep track of and ensure each member does his part. Each member will get a laptop and we will be connected 24 hours a day. Unlike others who meet erratically from time to time, our meetings are every day at 12 mid-day rain or shine. We have to catch up with the forerunners and it is my belief that within 6 months we would be on tally with MIC and PPP , at least in the number of meetings held.
Reporter: Er..er, okay Sir, I believe that you are going to tag along with Barisan National as well, don’t you think MIC would object to this as they did with IPF led by Tan Sri M.G.Pandithan?
Mr Nalla: Correct..correct..correct. We are aware of this and the first agenda in our daily meetings would be how to we overcome Datuk Seri Samy Vellu. It will take time, I know, but we will be persistent. You know like the game knock knock knock who is there. Persistent knocking will definitely open the door of MIC, and as you are aware, constant knocking will bring down any door or the least the disturbance will make them open up.
Reporter: Are you sure you can do this? Tan Seri M.G.Pandithan has been knocking from 1988 and the door remains closed.
Mr Nalla: Correct..correct..correct, maybe he did not knock loud enough but we will ensure that the door will be opened. I am now deciding that, in view of the obstacles of admittance to BN, out erstwhile proposal to build a Tamil Secondary School will be put on hold. A suitable announcement will be made at our members meeting tomorrow at mid-day.
Reporter: You have been reported that you will do better than the other Indian based parties. How do you propose doing this?
Mr Nalla: It is very simple. Where they send a memo to BN asking something for the Indians, we will fortify our request by sending the same request in 7 different ways, in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Punjabi, English and Bahasa. You must understand my dealings with the elite group goes back a few years, and my informer tells me there are not many translators in all these 7 languages. My guess is approval will be given to one of the 7 letters written and voilà the Indians benefit.
Reporter: You have been quoted as saying you will not be contesting in the coming elections even if BN gives you a seat to contest. Correct me if I am wrong, was it not the reason you left another political party on the question of seat allocation?
Mr Nalla: That is a politically loaded question1 You must have been send by the Opposition parties and you are leading me on to say things I my self no nothing of. This will be discussed in our meeting tomorrow at noon and I will send you the reply by e-mail thereafter. Now, continuing with other matters…
Reporter: Thank you Sir for your time. I will look forward to your e-mail.
