So the Bersih saga continues. After denial of support by the Royalty, individuals and some organizations have made Police reports against political blogs of Jeff Ooi and Raja Petra.
Report on Jeff Ooi
Three organisations saw it fit to make Police reports viz:
- Malaysian Islamic Consumers Association,
- Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress and
- Pertubuhan Seni Silat Ikatan Kalam Malaysia
This relates to an interview Jeff Ooi had with AlJazeera on the BERSIH rally of 10 – Eleven
The reports contained allegations of, Jeff causing damage to image of country, seditious, and racial tension.
I have digested much of the happenings of the BERSIH raly and its aftermath both in official versions and in alternate news and blogs. So much so, I could even bring out a book. This reminds me of a story old people told me. This relates to a stage drama about a King and his wife. A village idiot saw the story being acted on stage, and this was staged for a whole night. In the morning when the play ended, the village idiot was in doubt as to the actual relationship of the King and his wife. For those readers who know the story of Rama and Sitha would surely know this interlude. I am not fibbing, pardon me.
Why am I telling this old joke or story? The three misinformed organizations referred to above, are personified in the village idiot. Blessed with faculties of hearing and seeing but chose to be dummies. I may be wrong but basically it could be that they neither see or hear, or prefer not to. I am no judge of their perceptions, but let me clarify further.
I sat through the whole YouTube presentation, not once but a few times. What did these clowns see which I am missing. Sad to say, the interview was very straight forward. A bit of the past history including shooting in the other BERSIH rally in Terengganu, non-response of the Government to fair and free elections, the rally was peaceful until Police had to intervene, freedom to express is provided for in the constitution and even the Government admits we as a democratic country. These are not Jeff’s own concoctions but facts evolving in everyday Malaysia. What Jeff did was to explain, in good English, or do we say Queens’ language of the actual situation we are facing. Or would these village idiots rather have Jeff to rant like a rabid dog like one of their kind did in the other AlJazeera interview. Or are their jealous that Jeff ran him over.
To conclude the interview Jeff said, what BERSIH and the people want is :
- usage of indelible ink
- clean up of the election lists
- abolish postal votes
- free media
Does any voter does not want this? Are not the village idiots also voters? Or are they blind, deaf and bereft of their mental faculties? Please decide after you see the YouTube presentation.
I did not have much time to delve into the 3 organisations, but with the time I had I Googled on the Malaysian Islamic Consumers Association. I thought we had National and State organisations for comsumer protection, but why oh why, a race based one. Is our consumption based on race alone? No siree. Please don’t be alarmed and start opening up consumers associations for the Budhist, Hindus, Chritians, Sikhs, and what have we. Can’t we be just be Malaysian consumers? Of course I would be told the separation is because of food issues, so what, surely we are adult enough to understand that. This type of segregation is hurting us. I am not good at making Police reports, and as a citizen I got my democratic rights, but now can anybody help me I have not gone beyond some accident reports and with all these halabaloo like the report of Judge Fixers brother of V.K.Lingam being not received and all that, can any of you direct me. But, just “malu-lah” making reports to earn fame and name, the 3 organizations not being inclusive, they have to do what they have to do! Here again they know which side of their bread is buttered – although they are village idiots they have to eat, is it not so?
Coming to the first complainant, getting a bit legalistic, this organization is headed by a MAPAN president Dr Ma’amor Osman, also referred to as a Secretary sometimes. My doctor friend tells me he is not a medical doctor, but with some Doctrade unknown. He loves to, besides looking after the Muslim consumers, a aversion for Coca-Cola which he tried to ban it in 2005. He is a hero and concerned about consumers, as even a child knows, Coke gives you gas. Please don’t drink this. I have a lot more to say, including Raja Petras complainant, so please hang on with me until my next post.
