From this afternoon I have been very low in spirits. I read Malaysiakini “Agong: No royal support for Bersih rally” Then the Bernama report that ” Yang di- Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin has expressed regret over claims that he and the Palace approved and suppported Saturday’s illegal rally in the city.”
After reading these I felt what a waste that 40,000 people had to rally to change the way elections are held in this country, and this has come to a ZERO. I thought of the fears and anxiety felt by the 40,000, the apt action of the organizers to make the rally a success. The tear gas and chemical lazed water the people had to go through. What a ruddy waste, the suffering and tears I thought.
The first comment I read was from Susan Loone. She was direct and to the point like I told you so. Nothing encouraging here.
My evening walk did not help me to overcome the gloom. Later, I found Raja Petra had something interesting. Was it a ploy and the Agong is still with the people who marched. I am not too sure.
Haris Ibrahim was encouraging. Here and there I read various negative comments basically relating to “you just can’t trust remedial action to come from the King.” Comparison was even made with the King of Thailand.
I saw on YouTube the arrogant attitude of our leaders at AlJazeera interview. I was so happy seeing Malik Imtiaz arguing intelligently on the Bersih rally, and thought to my self how can these so call leaders continue to rule this country.
So what next then? Is everything lost? No. You can’t give up just like that. Lot of water has passed under the bridge. One way to go is only forward but no retreat. This is my country and I have right as the other 25 million.
I only hope and pray the leaders will not get frustrated but to endure to do more. Maybe it is high time the people in the heartland, as Malik put it, have to be informed. Their strength is invaluable. It will take time but the people will prevail maybe not now but eventually.
In ending I picked up something from Gandhi who endured lot of defeats before India became independence. He said “You must not loose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean, if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.”
Have a good night sleep, maybe tomorrow, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi,
Gandhi is right. You can feel discouraged with the King, politicians, whatever. But not with the “people”. There are generations and generations to come.
Live on and fight on
